If you have been following our blog posts, then you are already aware that checking your tires is a must and deciding to change your oil is not an option if you want your car running smoothly on the roads of Kearny Mesa. At Kearny Mesa Automotive, we want you to be safe out on the road, and that is why we are continuing our tips on how you can decrease your chances of visiting us during the warm months of the year.

  1. When was the last time you decided to take a closer look at your engine? Pop open the hood of your car and take a peek at what’s hiding under it. Checking your hoses and belts is something that can keep your engine running without problem. Be sure to take a look at the hoses and belts that are visible. Can you see any cracks or tears? If so, then you need to make an appointment with our auto repair shop! If one of the belts or hoses busts while you’re out on the road, you could become stranded. It’s easier to do something about it now, rather than having to deal with it later.
  2. Is your car gasping for air? When was the last time that you took a look at the air filter? Air filters are an easy upgrade and fix to your car, and if you haven’t changed it in a while, we suggest that you do! By changing your air filter, you will be able to increase the fuel efficiency that your car has to offer. We recommend that you change your air filter every 12,000 miles. Be sure to take in the environment you live in as well, if the area you drive daily is filled with debris from driving gravel roads, then changing it sooner than 12,000 miles is suggested.

We aren’t finished yet! Stay tuned for more tips on how you can decrease the chance of needing our local auto repair specialists. You can also contact us for more information about how to make an appointment, we look forward to hearing from you.
